The Impact of Literature on Political Thought
Abstract
This qualitative research paper investigates the influence of literature on political thought. This research examines texts I read as literature that documentary films examined as fact, drawing this conclusion: All these texts present political and nonpolitical literature but reflect factual, subjective interpretations and prescriptive hues that are factually and politically framed literature. Each of these works is examined thematically, using literary texts from various genres, times, and places to find reoccurring themes and their relation to political thought. The study argues that literature mirrors popular political sentiments and can challenge dominant ideologies and motivate political action. Such a study extends the scope of inquiry into and understanding the complex interrelation of literary and political history, as it enables us to dwell on the capacity of narrative to actively shape and mobilize political consciousness.
