Abstract

This research paper addresses a significant global issue as the impacts of climate change, like rising sea levels, increased temperatures, and extreme weather events, are increasingly forcing people to migrate. By examining relevant literature, this paper aims to study the climate-migration relationship and the implications of climate-induced migration on the socio-economic conditions of impacted individuals. The study uses a mixed-methods approach: case studies, surveys, and demographics. The finding indicates that climate migration disproportionately impacts marginalized sections of the population, which has enormous ramifications on global policies and humanitarian work. Hence, this research demonstrated that climate change is among the main drivers of migration. Thus, it is imperative that the international community collaborates to mitigate the effects of climate change on human migration.
